The Sliding House, Suffolk

This is a fun property design that is sure to make you smile. The owners wanted light, space and a connection with the outdoors so architects dRMM came up with a property design that consistently changes. They used a huge, 20-ton sliding cover on railway tracks that on the one hand protects the building and on the other morphs the appearance on demand. It’s an ingenious design that really pushes the boundaries of architecture.



Stowe House

The oldest building on our list proves that truly great architectural design can remain admirable for centuries. Stowe House was built between 1700 and 1800 and worked on by pretty much every great architect of that era. Surrounded by acres of landscape gardens, this property offers a strong regal architectural design with statement features such as The Corinthian Arch, The Gothic Temple and The Rotondo.



 

Witanhurst

London’s largest private house and indeed its most expensive is a beautiful, timeless, 25 bedroomed mansion named Witanhurst. Valued at over £300 million, Witanhurst boasts a 70ft-long ballroom, with a yellow, blue and gold ceiling that took six months to paint and gild.
